Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. How do I calibrate the Activpen to line up with the mouse?

  • Applicable to all activboards with either WINDOWS or MAC applications.
    Hover over the lit flame in the top left hand corner of the Activboard, don’t push the pen. The board will then beep and the calibration tool will start.
    Or, if the board has markings for the corners of the usable area then push the pen on the tip of each corner. The Activpen is now calibrated.

2. How do I get replacement Activpen nibs?

  • The type of Activpen nib we have is approximately 30mm long.
    Activpen nib replacements are FREE of charge. Please contact our Help Desk and we will send a pack of nibs to you.

3. What if the projector won’t power on?

  • The projector won’t power up (solid red power light) on the Activboard +2 System.
    Disconnect the mains cable from the back of the projector. Raise the board and projector and wait for approximately 20 minutes. Then plug the mains cable back into the projector and attempt to power it up.

4. How do I clean the Activboard?

  • Do not use abrasive powders, soaps, detergents or petroleum based cleaners or solvents on the Activboard surface.
    We recommend a proprietary brand for dry-wipe marker board cleaner. Scratches cannot be repaired or removed and will make ink and stain removal to that area difficult.
    A polish with standard household spray polish will restore the smooth writing surface after cleaning.
    The surface of the Activboard is made to very high standards of durability. In normal use you can expect satisfactory results every time with proper maintenance.

5. How do I adjust the volume on an Activboard+2 System?

  • The system has been designed to allow ease of volume adjustment via the ‘Volume +’ and ‘Volume -‘ buttons on the projector remote control. There is no need to adjust the volume on the computer or the amplifier or speakers.
